I've been out of the loop for a while. When 2700k was released, did MC immediately offer their mobo deals? I have one nearby, and I'm wondering if that sort of thing is worth waiting for?

As I recall, the combo deal was never offered with the 2700k. Only with the 2600k and 2500k. They started offering that about 2-3 months after it came out I think.

Considering Ivy Bridge is coming out very soon I would imagine you would see some nice combo deals VERY soon. I would wait. Or just get an IB all together...

Maybe I wasn't clear..

I will be going with IB. I'm wondering if when the 2700k was released, MC carried it immediately with mobo deals.

They pretty much never do that with brand new CPU's... Considering the Bulldozer line came out what 4 months ago, they are just now (as of two weeks) have a decent mobo/8120 deal...

they did do it with 2500k at launch..... $180... believe there were $ off mobo deals too, but mobos weren't as cheap (no h61 i think at launch)...
