Microcenter: 7600X3D bundle for $400

Still going at the Sharonville OH location. Seems like people are hitting MC pretty hard early this year for the holiday season. Panic buying before any tariffs get started maybe?

Vengance_01 I actually asked about board swaps in these bundles yesterday and they would not allow it. Asked multiple reps and even the Manager. No dice. I still may pick up this $400 combo, put the CPU on an itx board and sell the Asus ATX board and ram for like 200 bucks. OR just suck it up and snag a 9800x3d and itx board at... shudders... regular prices!

I would bet yes. I am heading to Chicago for the holiday weekend and I am honestly weighing whether it will happen or not, because I feel like I should buy before it goes up 20-60%. I also would like if they had a combo without the ASUS boards. Really hoping for a better mobo option for BF though.

25+ here in STL...thinking of buying one just cuz...lol

Vengance_01 & TheHig I went through this at MC in Cleveland around this time last year when I wanted the 7800X3D with the 7900x mobo + RAM combo. After chatting with the manager there, I learned that the combos are handled a little bit differently than in the past. It used to be that MC themselves worked out the bundles, so you could swap out parts within reason, and get a fixed amount off. Now the combos are created by the Mobo manufacturers, so they don't have the flexibility to swap components around anymore.

Kind of a shame, but with the inclusion of RAM these days I think the deals are a little sweeter than they used to be. Win some lose some I guess.

Years ago the usual deal was something along the lines of buy a proc and a board and get a discount on the pair. That was usually more like $40 though IIRC, so the overall deal wasn't nearly as good as these combos. IMHO the real bummer is they don't have more board options for each combo. It would be nice if most of them at least had an ATX and an mATX option -- especially for this 7600X3D combo and the 7800X3D combo. Most of those are going to go into straight up gaming rigs where all they're installing is a proc, board, 2 sticks of ram, 1-2 SSDs and a vid card.

I'm going Wednesday to Miami. I plan to get the 7600X3D combo to replace my 9700k. I only play PUBG, so I figure it'll be worthy upgrade. I thought about getting the 7800X3D, but for $200 bucks savings and not a ton more FPS, I figure it'll be fine.

I kinda feel this too. I'm on 5700x and a 7600X3D could be a nice upgrade, and I would have a path for 9xxx stuff later

To get around this. Put the combo in your cart online. Then add an open box motherboard of your choice. Or another motherboard for that matter. Then delete the motherboard out of your cart that you don’t want. And it should still save the combo price(discount of cpu etc.. some motherboards have better discounts)…. I tend to prefer open box motherboards if they are a good deal. Asus boards tends to be heavily returned and can be an excellent deal just inspect the socket before going home. Make sure no bent pins. Had one I refused due to that. I’ve had good luck with the Asus strix 650e Wi-Fi. Can find them open box for $200 or less at times and considering the features, I think it’s a great option. Or for around $100 open box the Asus 650 tuf Wi-Fi is usually available.

You have to order it online though. And pick up in-store.

Looks like it might be D-E-D. :(

Edit: Maybe it's because I bought it already and it's 1 per household... Not showing available anywhere for me.

Deal is still alive at my MC. I just built a PC for a coworkers kid with this deal. Great freaking deal for sure!

Just picked mine up today with a few other goodies. This is what I drove today to get it. No ragrats! I could have gotten a 7800X3D, but I don’t feel like I needed one. That combo would have cost me about $215 more to buy, i really didn’t wanna spend much.

I will say if the 7600X3D didn’t exist I most likely would have spent the extra $100 it would have coast me to buy it (7800X3D) online than in person. The $100 savings realistically would have been $50 from diesel and tolls, so not worth my time to drive that much save about $50. The 7600X3D was worth my time since it gives me a worthy upgrade, without breaking the bank.

What kind of diesel vehicle are you driving that gets 46mpg?

OOHH Dallas is showing back in stock. Maybe.

Are you doing Win 10 or 11? Or other? I would love not have to do 11 on my main rig if I don't have to. But I thought we needed the new scheduler in 1124H2 to get good results with the new Ryzens?

2015 Passat TDI.

I'm on Windows 10. I really don't want Windows 11, but I'll get it if it's a huge benefit. I do remember hearing about the new scheduler giving better performance. I'll have to watch some Youtube videos on different chips to see how much difference it actually is.

Thanks for sharing. Replaced my x58 motherboard that has been my main gaming rig since 2008. Hard to see in pic but fit nice in the antec 900. Big difference in performance even with same video card.

Installed mine today. Absolutely beast of a unit compared to my 9700k. I wish I'd of bought a 7800X3D a long time ago so I wouldn't have had to be dealing with 100% cpu usage in PUBG. What I don't regret is getting the 7600X3D. For gaming, it's awesome and the lower cpu power is nice for the office so it doesn't get as warm anymore.

What's really interesting is how on some of these bundle "deals" the offered motherboard upgrade has a price differential less than the upgrade cost. For example, the 7700X bundle comes with a $179.99 board and for just $50 more you can instead get a motherboard with an MSRP of $199.99!

Zen 5 a launch so bad that it not only caused a drastic spike in Zen 4's prices but also killed off Microcenter's best deals. Remember a free RAM kit and $20 - $50 off nearly any compatible motherboard?

Don't blame Zen 5 for that. The non-X3D 7xxx processors didn't really spike in price and the 7xxx X3D processors spiked only because AMD stopped producing them. In fact, the Microcenter 7950X3D bundle hit its lowest price a month after Zen 5's launch.

I haven't seen the X off motherboard + free RAM deal in at least a year. The closest current one is an X off motherboard on certain Intel processors, no free RAM. Set bundles have been the case for a while now; earlier this year you could shenanigan your way into a different motherboard but Microcenter seems to have put a stop to that in the last month or two.

I got 32gb 6000mhz free ram with $20 off the mobo with my 9800x3d purchase @ Newegg.

Yeah there used to be flexibility in the combo deals where you could mix and match mobo and CPU, but now it seems you are locked into 1 mobo option, or a $$ upgrade.

Although I haven't actually gone to the store and try to haggle with someone in person. It's possible they could swap some things in or out. But I had to take my car to the shop so my extra spending money is about to evaporate :(

No you do have to do an online order add all the combo parts. I usually scour the open box mobo listings and find something I want that’s a good deal. Then delete the crap motherboard out of cart. Should retain combo prices with differential of motherboard pricing can be higher or lower
