ok, I have a Leadtek Winfast k7ncr18d Pro motherboard with nVidia's soundstorm audio. my problem is that i cannot get a mic to work with it. i just bought a new headset so i can use teamspeak and no matter what settings i change i cannot get it to work. i have the newest drivers installed and am thinking of going back a version on the audio drivers to try that out. has anyone else had this problem? if you have, how did you fix it?

dunt have that board but here are a few thingys to try -
try the headset on a different system & see if it works
make sure that the mic plug is making ample connection in the mic socket ( you'd be surprised - it can be that simple - I have 3 working headphones that work fine with my walkman but wont work with the computer... merely due to this issue...)
update the drivers - or as you said, try an older set...
try a different mike - you might have a bad connection on the board
look at the mic settings in the play control panel - usually the mic is set to the "mute" setting... small things cause the biggest headaches as this setting can go back to default (muted) automatically after each reboot.
good luck

i got it fixed by installing my old sb live. i tried a different mic and had the same problem which got me thinking that i just had a problem with the onboard sound.
