Messed up monitor power off with 7750

I've got a 7750 in my wife's computer, and recently it's been behaving strangely. I have the system set to turn off the monitor after 20 minutes, and while that works fine, usually about 5 minutes after the monitor sleeps it will wake back up, but with a completely black screen and the mouse pointer. If I move the mouse, it'll wake up like normal. Anyone ever seen that before?

I checked my Windows power settings, I tried both the Cat 12.8 and the new 12.11 drivers, and I've looked around in CCC for any power related settings, but nothing seems to work. It just started doing this a week or so ago, suddenly, but I didn't change anything in that time that might have caused it that I can remember or find.

Any ideas?
 
Might be the monitor? Try using the monitor with another PC and see if the same problem occurs. Also you can try a different DVI slot if you've got one. It's fixed many a problem for me before.
