Messed up a hard drive transfer

So one of my old hard drives is failing. It's5 years old, it's been used and abused, I had an external that I took apart to use as a movie storage and I decided to move the OS over to it for use as a main hard drive. I backed up the OS drive with Acronis and restored the new HD thru it as well...but now I have a drive that shows up on the bios, and shows up in the disk management system, but that I have no other way of getting to. It reports as a C drive, just like my OS drive, but it doesn't let me access it if I try to boot through it only. If anyone has any ideas on what I can do to get over this, I'd really appreciate it.
 
Yeah if it's faulty then there really is no point in keeping it in the bay powered on and if you did I'd probably want to format it through Disk Manager, Activate it, and then assign it a drive letter.


Sounds like a similar problem I'm having but used Paragon to restore and somehow my boot manager got slapped onto the drive I restored it from instead of the drive I restored it to forcing me to dual boot both drives to use my recovered image. Consider your problems minor lol
 
Liger88, that actually sounds exactly like what I'm going through. The new drive can be seen in BIOS and in the disk management, but it's not letting me assign a drive path or anything. It shows that I had all the information restored to it correctly, i.e. what I had backed up is on there based on the amount of space remaining, but I can't see it as a drive to access through My Computer, and all I can do in disk management is take it on and offline.
