memtest86 q

Is there a windows based memtest? Or similar program... ? =/... I dont like how memtest just displays a bunch of random numbers, it bothers me.

You want 0 errors with memtest86. Does the Windows Diagnostic one test all the memory, or just the regions not occupied by Windows files?

Do what caRpetbomBer recommended to try to get the errors to go away.

I'm thinking it tests all the RAM, because you have to exit to DOS to test...Well, you install, and it creates a boot disk, just like MemTest and then you restart and it loads it, just like MemTest...

Are you at stock settings my friend, Stock it up then run MemTest86 again, see what you get...

You may not like how it displays a bunch of numbers, but it's a great troubleshooting tool :)...

Carry on folks...

Any tester worth it's weight runs seperate of windows, possibly on it's own OS, maybe one of the many flavors of DOS. 0 errors at stock setting is the only real good answer. If you have to up your voltages to make it stable something is wrong, though getting it stable may be acceptable... Personally I like good clean runs at stock settings only.
