2600+ Mobile Barton
nf7-s v2
pc2700(ddr333) 2.5-3-3-6
It is my first time to oc and i read up a lot about it, but i'm lost. I was upping my fsb through the bios then doing a few sandra tests as well as 3dmark. I brought the ram from 166mhz to 193 all fine and no problems. Then, I said to myself I'll stop here and try a memtest for an a few hours. So I popped in floppy and loaded it up.
chipset speed: 193mhz
ram speed: 166mhz
now i know this is a problem because your fsb of cpu = speed of ram. my bios as well as cpuz all say that my cpu:ram ratio is 1:1. i have my cpu:ram ratio in bios set to auto(or optimal).
I got like 16 problems in 2 minutes (error 1).
Is this because memtest doesn't see cpu speed=ram speed?
Or is this because of a instablity problem?
Or is this because memtest86 reads the rams original speed?
any help would be appreciated
