memtest showing wrong gen processor?

So i was running memtest 86+ because im having stability issues.

with an i5 3470 CPU memtest shows that it is Generation 2 instead of 3.

anyone know why this might be? could this be an indicator of some sort of cpu problem that is causing my overall crashing?

thanks

Probably because the program hasn't been updated to include the Ivy Bridge line. Seems the last generation they've added recognition support for is Sandy Bridge.
