Memtest not consistently starting?

I have a Tforce 550 SE (latest from newegg) and an am2 x2 3800. I've got 2 gigs of ddr667 wintec ampo ram.

I've tested my cpu and ram with orthos and memtest before and none have given me any errors for 9 hours of testing +

I've noticed that sometimes Memtest won't run. Sometimes it just gives me the blue screen with the Memtest heading and a blinking underscore.

My hardware should be fine because when the tests acutally began I went through many many passes for overnight+. I was just wondering if there was anyone that knew what was going on.

*Btw brownie points to whoever can give me a reasonable config for OCing a stock cooled am2 x3800 w/ 2x1gig ddr667.
