i want to make a bootdisk using the memtest iso since i dont have a floppy.

question1: does it run the same way? i have the cdr set as primary boot, so it should load that up first, is it the same dos prompt console and same commands?

question2: can i burn it on a cdrw or does it have to be on a cdr?

question3: can someone give me the basic commands to run the test and stop it?

thanks.

1) Burn the ISO with Nero, let it restart, have CD-ROM as the first Boot Device and it'll automatically start, just like a floppy...No Dos Needed...

2) It should say on the MemTest site, have you read it? I cannot say for sure, but I doubt there is a limitation...

3) It'll automatically launch into the test after you burn the image and restart (assuming that CD is the first boot device), to end, press escape (Esc), to configure press (c), and choose the correct options...Enable All Tests, Test All RAM...

thx for quick reply
nothing mentioned about cdrws on the site though, guess ill have to sacrifice a cdr, or give it a shot with a cdrw and see if it works...

CDR's are like 10Cent a pop now, so sacrificing one is worth it eh? I used a CDR when my floppy wasn't hooked up, worked fine to boot...

Since I have experience with CDR, that's what I (and only I) recommend, but that's not to say that CD-RW can't be used...
