memtest and how to use it?

I have "the ultimate boot CD" which has memtest and and windows version of a RAM checker on it.

I have a few questions about it though:

1: Why does it continue to do the tests over and over again?
2: If it finds an error, does it mean the RAM is bad/dead, or can it be repaired soemhow?
3: How do I know which stick of RAM it is testing?

1.) It repeatedly tests until you cancel it because it's a stress test. It just endlessly runs (you know like Prime95, except it won't stop after it finds errors) because it's possible that errors will pop up eventually.

2.) If errors come up, there's a couple possibilities. If the system is stock, no overclocking, RAM is stock, CPU is stock, and there are errors, the RAM is probably bad.
If you're overclocked, the memory might be running too aggressive timings, or it's not getting enough voltage for the timings it's running at.

3.) I usually test one stick at a time.
