Memory with Gigabyte X370 Gaming 7

Hey everyone I am trying to get this set of memory to see 3200 on the Gigabyte X370 Gaming 7
G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Intel Z170 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-16GVGB

I get many errors on memtest86 set at 3200. If set to 3000 it works fine at 1.35v.

Any recommendations?

cpu memory controller will be struggling
try up the vdimm to 1.4v and soc to 1.15v if this is stable see if its ok with less

I tried and still only reach 3000. I did mess around with manual timings and 3200 was achieved but very high timings so went back.

guess your mb\cpu don't like that ram at 3200 no mater 2933 isn't bad
you have updated the bios to the latest haven't you? as this can make a big difference

I have updated to the latest bios. Yeah it is not bad. I did order some different memory from GSkill called flare so going to see if this makes a difference. I do like the Ryzen build though.

If your stuck at that speed, which is very close to what you are aiming for, try to get the other timings tighter. Not hitting 3200 may give you advantages in that regard.
