HI everyone. I am upgrading my system from i7-2600k to i7-4790k. I already have 16gb dd3 1600. I was wonderin Should I upgrade to ddr3 2133 or keep the old one & save money. Am I going to notice any big difference? Thanks

The only place you're going to notice a difference is in memory benchmarking.

Pretty much every place else, the performance difference is so small you couldn't observe it.

Not unless you're planning on running a database server on it.

is your 1600 kit c9?
what do you use it for?
the 2600k overclocked competes fairly well with the 4790k
once overclocked the 2600k with 2133c9 ram could be faster than the 4790k with 1600 in games as they seem to be more sensitive to ram performance
not that you would notice a difference in most games since all but a few will be gpu bottlnecked

i doubt that ether cpu or ram are worth upgrading
maybe wait for skylake
in something like arma 2133c9 ram would be a better value upgrade than 4790k as the performance gain is over half of the performance difference between the cpu but it cots much less

My motherboard died. I couldn't find a decent mobo for i7-2600k. Only option I have is the Asrock mobo $129. look like it has bad reviews. All I do is gaming & dlna streaming. do you guys recommend any decent mobo with pci ex 3.0? If I can find a decent mobo then I will stick with i7-2600k. I overclocked mine to 4.4ghz.

asrock z77 extreme 4 $129 is a decent mb and at the very least it will tide you over till better gear is out
doesnt mater if the mb supports pci-e 3.0 if you stick with the 2600k pci-e 2.0 is the max it can handle
