memory update, are timings important?

hi,

i'm running Windows Vista (64) and i have 2x1GB OCZ gold XTC PC2-6400 DDR2-800 CL5-5-5-12

the problem is that i have a stick that failed the Mem test and i will have to return it... since i don't want to wait a month or so without using the computer, i have planning on buying an extra 2GB (it's really cheap anyway). so does it matter what kind of memory i get (mostly talking about timings).

your help is gladly appreciated
