I have a 2.4c overclocked to a 3.15 with non 1:1 mem timings... if I replace the 2.4c with a 3.2c with normal 1:1 mem/fsb ratio will it be faster?

Basically the question is Does 1:1 mem timings matter in the speed? If so you should always strive for 1:1 ratio right?

it will not be any faster. a 2.4c@3.2 1:1 will be faster than a 3.2c. latencies are not as important on intel systems as they are on amd systems, you should try to keep the ram 1:1 or keep the memory running at the highest fsb you can. my ram runs 1:1 at 271fsb and i get 6400-6500mb/s with sisoft. have you tried to overclock your 2.4c higher?

being an overclocker, i would NEVER upgrade from a 2.4c to a 3.2c. the only upgrade id consider is to a cpu that can hit 4+ghz, extreme edition, or some sort of engineering sample.
 
I have but it fails to post anything above 3.15... i forget the fsb i've used.
 
Whoops got mixed up. Yeah, if you can't run anything higher than 3.15 async, just stay where you're at.
