How do you tell if the timings on memory is good???? I have never figured that out and I think it is time to ask.

Look on the back of the memory, there should be a sticker that says what type of memory and the stock timings. Generally the lower the numbers, the better your memory timings. Example 2-2-2-5 is outstanding with really tight timings, 3-4-4-8 is looser, it seems to be pretty common with higher MHz memory. If you have an AMD setup, or are planning to run GAT (PAT, Memory Enhancement) on an 865 board, go for tighter timings.

So let me get this right the LOWER the number the better the timings are. If this is wrong correct me.

Yes lower is GENERALLY better..but there's alot more to it than just that. Try going throughthis

Corsair makes great RAM. But i personally favor Mushkin's Level II line rated 2-2-2-6. Probably the best memory you can buy. And if you decide to..you better do it quick as Mushkin has stopped making these and the price has climbed significantly since December.

I can't find that mushkin line 2 stuff on newegg so would that corsair be my next best choice?
