I'm looking for some benchmarks where various memory timings are compared (whilst keeping other variables constant), over a range of different apps. (gaming, data processing, etc etc).
I know it's already debated how much of a difference they make, and on which chipsets and such, but what really got me thinking was a review of that new OCZ gold stuff. 2-2-2-5 @ 250 Mhz, compared to their older PC4000 stuff which cuts a more standard 3-4-4-8. Damn nice specs, but ..
.. this stuff is atronomically expensive. I wonder what the pragmatic difference is between 2-2-2-5 and 3-4-4-8? (for example - those seem to be two fairly standard timing points).
