memory speed?

Hi guys,

yesterday I bought 2x512 MB RAM, 400 MHz, Kingmax. I was really surprised when I got nearly 10% weeker results on test, compared to my old RAM (2x512 MB, 320 MHz, PQI).

I have dual layer memory slots and the config is:
P4 2,4 GHz
MB ASUS P4P800
Maxtor 120 GB
Sapphire Radeon 9600XT

I'm I doing something wrong?

Sorry, wrong spelling.
The results are poorer for 400 MHz RAM.
Also I'm doing my own tests with the software I use every day (Studio 9 DVD authoring, Pro tools calculations - all on a very big files) - measuring minutes and second to finish the tasks.
So, the problem is: I put new RAM into the same DIMM slots (instead old one), MB do all the work for me and make 400 MHz automatically (instead 320 MHz for my old PC 2700 RAM) and the results on tests are poorer.
Can anybody explain this? I mean, KINGMAX is famous, how they can make bad RAM?
 
try manually dropping the speed back down to what it was before?

and what are the timings for both sets of ram? :p
