Memory Speed vs. Latency?

I've seen some outrageous memory oc's recently, like those 3xx fsb 1:1 at 2.5-4-4-7 or 3-4-4-8. I started wondering if it would be better if they used a divider like 5:6 or 4:5 and be able to use lower timings like 2-3-3-5 or something.

What are you guys' experiences on this issue?

Its always better to run 1:1 with slightly less tight timings then 5:4 with tight. This applies 99% of the time and the other 1% is just when people post BS benchmarks :)

you might find some situations where 5:4 2-2-2-5 beats 1:1 3-4-4-8 but its extremely rare and only happens in mega obscure memory benchmarks that have nothing to do with normal PC usage.
