I'm ordeing a 2.8G chip(hoping to make 3.4G OC) and I already have P4P800 deluxe. Will the diffence in price between 1G and 512MB of PC4000 RAM be that noticable if I'm only playing NFS:U and DAOC with a 9800 Pro?

512 MB is usually good for most games and general computer usage. DAOC is a memory whore with all the new expansions and crap out for it. My friend had 512 MB running it, then went to 1 GB and the gameplay got a whole lot smoother. I don't know about the NFS: Underground though.

However, 512 should be enough, though the days when 1 GB of RAM will become the norm are quickly approaching.

I've never noticed NFS:U slowing down a friend's comp which has 512MB any worse than on mine with a 1GB

1GB still wouldn't be such a bad idea, though. As BillLeeLee put it, there are many memory "whores" that will be out within this year. I'm building a gaming system similar to yours, and I still have to start posting about which type of memory to get.
