Hey guys,

I just have a small question regarding memory.

Right now I gave my second 512MB stick away to my wife, so im stuck with DDR2700/512MB, now, I can afford to buy a 2x256MB DDR3200 Kingston HyperX for myself but I was wondering, along with that 2x256/Kingston, I could run in dual channel what would happen if i placed my 512MB 2700 stick in DIMM2 or 4, while the kingston is in DIMM 1+3, would the kingston still run in dual channel while the other is in there?

Just wanted to know :)

My ESP isn't working this morning, so I have no idea what mobo you have.

If it's a P4 system, you can't have dual channel with an odd number of memory chips.

Nice board. In that case, no you need a pairing of chips. Either 2 or 4 chips to run in dual channel.
