hey guys, a buddy of mine has a pile of crap HP pavillion 500 with I think a 1.4 P4 or celeron. It has one stick of 128 pc133 and was wondering if he could add another stick of 128 but pc100?

Yes.

If it can accept more RAM, that you'd have to open it up and make sure that it has more then 1 RAM Slot, which I am sure that it does.

The only thing is that it's not going to run at PC133 unless it will O/C that far, but I doubt it if it is Generic, or something not high end, but you never know.

If you know what FSB the P4 run's at, which I bet that it is nothing special, it is probably only utilizing PC100 at the moment, so you will be all set.

The FSB is 100mhz, so I guess it would be OK then? It's just such a slow dog and I have this ram which I do not use. Its sad when people don't understand what they are buying.

If his FSB is only 100Mhz then his PC133 is only running at 100MHz instead of 133MHz. So yea if you put another sick of PC100 in it will run at the same speed and should work fine i would say.
