Is it possible to use pc 2700 ram and pc 3200 ram in the same computer or would the speed of one affect the other or not work for some reason?
 
Yes, you can do that and people do it all of the time. The PC 3200 will drop to the PC2700 speeds. The only problem you MIGHT run into, and it's always iffy until you try it, is mismatching two different brands. Even then, the majority of the time everything works fine together.
 
You can use any speed of DDR togethor in a configuration but they will all always run at the speed of the slowest DIMM installed.

Its not a wise choice to run different brands and speeds togethor but usually it will work.
