Memory Question

I was under the impression that memory frequency is supposed to be set 1:1 with the FSB for best performance. Thus, for my 3800+ with a FSB of 200 mhz, I would want to set my memory to 200 mhz as well. And when I increased the FSB, my memory frequency would increase as well and thus automatically compensate. Is this not correct? How do memory dividers play into this? Sorry for the newbie question. If someone has a link to a good read on thesubject, that will suffice. Thanks!
