Memory problems (4x512 dual channel sticks)

So I've pretty much got this down to a memory timing issue... the problem is this... I have 4x 512MB sticks of Corsair XMS memory. Both were purchased at the same store as 1GB kits, but at different times so I got a slightly different revision with the second set, but they are both pretty much the same:

The problem I'm having... is I can't for the life of me getting the system running stable with all 4 sticks. It defaults to DDR333 (which is what mobo supports for 4x dual channel sticks), but the timings seem to default like 4t (even with TWO sticks???). Motherboard is a "Gigabyte GA-K8N PRO-SLI NF4SLI 939". Well... say 60% of the time the system won't even *POST* when powering on until I pull 4 sticks, or I have to turn it off, wait 15 seconds, turn it on, and maybe it'll post and I'll be able to get into the BIOS. Now if it makes it to Windows I've got a so-so chance of it letting me login w/out crashing the OS (most of the time it'll reboot right after I login... or right before I get to the login prompt).

Now if I pull two sticks it runs just dandy with the default settings. I *had* it running stable with some custom settings for two days... but then it whacked out on me and wouldn't run stable anymore... as if the settings had changed. I'm also in the dilemma that everytime I get it locking up on POST i have to reset all my BIOS settings (drive boot order, turn off on board sound, etc).

Thoughts? System specs in sig.

which two revisions do you have?

have you tried bumping up vdimm to 2.7v or 2.8v?

Well I bumped vdimm +.1 and have the memory at ddr333, 2.5-3-3-8 and it seems to have held out a full day of WoW last night. 139/140ms (largest value in the cpuZ latency test). I've got my fingers crossed it keeps running stable.

The revisions are weird... don't have the exact #'s, but the originals I got show up CpuID with only one memory timing... for 200mhz, with 2-3-3-8 as the timing. Well the newer revision has timings listed for 133mhz and 166mhz (not sure what they are at the moment.. at work, but 200mhz is also 2-3-3-8 like the previous revision).

Hey again...

So some screen shots. Current timing settings:

Now this is the new memory (2x512 kit):

This is the older model (2x512 kit as well):

I had trouble running stable last night so I pulled the older ram, and ran at 2-3-3-8, with very tight bus timings, and running at 1T, etc... Well it ran rock solid with those two sticks all night, so this morning I put in the other two sticks... keep the same memory timings, force it to ddr400 (bwhahaha), but raise it to 2T and +.1v to ddr voltage. So far it's running...but I have yet to try WoW. Thoughts?

Ugh, I fail yet again. No matter what timings I try with 4 sticks it only runs for so long. Two run stable most of the time. I've run memtest on the sticks before and both sets tested fine (though on one test gave zillions of errors when I had 4 sticks... then no errors at all when I ran them again after a reboot). It seems I get these stability errors after the PC's been sitting off for a while (8 hours while I'm at work), I have trouble to get it to boot with 4 sticks, usually no problem with 2 sticks. And what's funny is the last reboot didn't generate a dump or go to the BSOD (I had turned off automatic reboots). Thoughts anyone?
