I'm running a epox 8kha+ (kt266a board) with an athlon xp 2600+ (default 16x133) and some crucial ballistix pc3200 memory. i have the older revision of the board that doesn't support the xp 2600+, so i have to run it at a 12.5 multiplier.
i've gotten the board up to 175 fsb with a 1:1 memory:fsb ratio, and it's fine. it's also fine if i run the memory at a 3:4 ratio and the fsb at 185. however, when i bring the memory ratio back to 1:1, the thing won't get into windows at 180 fsb.
my ram should work up to 200MHz since it's pc3200. the motherboard runs fine at 185+ when the ram is running slower. any ideas as to whot's the limiting factor here? is anything else affected when the memory ratio is changed?
other specs:
480W antec psu, gf 6800nu
