memory needs more volts problem

Odd problem encountered overclocking my Venice using cheap Corsair ValueRAM. Using dividers to keep the memory speed below 200, I got a stable 270X9 (after RMAing my last DFI board that was stuck at 260X9 then started crashing even at stock speeds after about 4 months of use (bad caps possibly?)). However, this is the part that doesn't make sense...

I had to increase my DRAM voltage while running at fixed timings and lower than 200MHz memory bus. At stock CPU and memory speeds (200x9, 200 memory), everything works fine at the default memory voltage of 2.6V. At 270X9 with a 7/10 divider giving 190MHz RAM with same timings of 2.5/3/3/8, my system would crash within 30 secs of loading Windows at 2.6V. Without changing any settings, bumping DRAM voltage to 2.9V has stabilized my system. Now finishing 3dmark05, 3dmark01, FAH for hours, prime95, etc.

So my memory is somehow requiring more voltage running at or below stock speeds when my CPU and HTT is overclocked. Anyone else have these issues? I also checked PSU rails just to make sure everything is dandy, and the 12V and 5V are within 1-2% spec at all times.
