Ok... so what is the best memory setting with the new a5 core

and what the heck does all this mean... I have found little to make me understand

Independent
Channel Mirror
Lockstep

and numa on or off

Saw this on a dell server...

Advanced ECC (Lockstep) Mode Support: In this configuration, the two channels closest to the processor are combined to form one 128-bit channel. This mode supports Single Device Data Correction (SDDC) for both x4- and x8-based memory modules. Memory modules must be identical in size, speed, and technology in corresponding slots.

Memory Mirroring Support: The system supports memory mirroring if identical memory modules are installed in the two channels closest to the processor (memory should not be installed in the farthest channel). Mirroring must be enabled in the System Setup program. In a mirrored configuration, the total available system memory is one-half of the total installed physical memory.

Optimizer (Independent Channel) Mode: In this mode, all three channels are populated with identical memory modules. This mode permits a larger total memory capacity but does not support SDDC with x8-based memory modules.

TLDR: You want Independent mode. (Or what ever the default is)

good... turned numa off and left it independent ...

numa might be good in the future we will have to see...

numa should be off or disabled

at least, that gives a nice boost on an sr2 with 8-12 cores.

Folding@Home is not NUMA-aware....yet. You definately want NUMA off for now.

hopefully the lower tpf will help counter the a5 ppd drop... :(

lol...not found a server with numa off yet...

one even had itself in efficiency mode instead of performance...
 10:02 tpf 6901 on dual 2.8ghz

Edit... 20:03 still not bad...

it had just locked up on the first one so it may not be real....

I will now go shoot myself.... really ... really... was running -smp 16 on my dual hexacore... no wonder its tpf was around the same as the dual quads...
