Well I decided to build my father a computer for his birthday and have not done a build since before going to college. 4 years later and I am really rusty and having some issues that seem to be based on memory.

Hardware :

Intel Core i7-920 Bloomfield 2.66GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor BX80601920

DFI LANPARTY JR X58-T3H6 LGA 1366 Intel X58 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

G.SKILL 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL7T-6GBPK

Antec EarthWatts EA650 650W

EVGA GeForce 9800 GT

Issue:

The problem occurs when I am installing a legit version of Windows 7 64 bit. When installing it gets to about 13% and gives me a error 0x80070570. Now to get around that error I had to take out 2 of the 3 sticks of memory. Then it would load windows fine, but if I put the other 2 sticks in every now and then I would get a memory management BSOD . So I guess my question is, is there something in the bios I need to configure so I can run all 3 sticks.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Squizzel,

Check the memory timings and voltage.

Sometimes when you leave SPD on Auto, the timings will be set too aggressively. Manually set things to 9-9-9-24, and see if that addresses the issue.

Also, some of the older 6 gig kits required 1.65v to run at the rated speed.

Hope that helps!

Hey Brampton,

I left everything on auto and set up those timings and voltage and still got bsod when it tried to load into windows. Then when I take 2 of the sticks out it worked just fine..

Attempting to try each stick at a time so I can find out if I have a faulty stick.

Looks like I have a bad stick.

Is it odd that it will boot with 2 good sticks and 1 bad one but then BSOD while trying to get into windows.
