Memory Locks

Hi all. I've got a question bout memory locks vs. memory dividers. I will be buying an Athlon64 3500+ winchester soon, and I'm hoping to overclock it 2.6+. I know ever chip is different, but go with me for a second. Ok, I'm going to be getting some Corsair 3200XLPro memory. From all the reviews i've seen, people get those up to an average of 240-250 MHz.

Say I'm overclocking my comp with a 1:1 mem ratio, and I hit a ceiling at 245. Unless I get a good chip, I don't think the winnie will go 2695 (still on the 11 multiplyer) MHz without more cooling then I can buy. So... if I drop the multiplyer to 10, I have two options (if I'm correct on my assumptions). I can lock the RAM at 245, and continue upping the HTT, or I can put in a divider, say, 5:4. Obviously, locking it like that will be better since it will allow for a higher RAM freq.

So my question... Am I correct about locking theory? :D Thanks for your help. I havn't been able to find much on the subject, and I want to make sure I know what I'm doing before I do it. (I guess this is also related to a PCIe lock. I'm getting an MSI K8N Neo4, if it helps.)
