I'm currently running the following system:
AMD Opteron 175 @ 2.9Ghz
Asus A8R32MVP motherboard
Corsair TwinX 2GB kit (2x1GB) DDR
2xX1900XT in Crossfire mode
Now with this setup I can't get either RAM chip to work in slots 1 & 2 (the two slots closest to the CPU) - the system simply won't POST properly. Slots 3 & 4 work fine and I'm using the two chips in there currently in single-channel mode.
Funny thing is that with my previous Opteron 165 CPU there was no problems with the same memory sticks and motherboard - it ran dual channelled.
I've tried adjusting pretty much all the memory timings in the BIOS to no avail - Command Rate, DDR timing etc etc.
Does anybody have any further suggestions on this? It's probably not a big performance issue but it's annoying because it should work but doesn't.
