Memory for Gigabyte X58 UD3R

Either of those last 2 kits will be fine. Go with DDR3 1600 as that is the sweet spot for DDR3.

I recommend this 6GB G.Skill DDR3 1600 because it runs at a lower voltage (1.5v).

I have to agree with the G.Skill, I have the Corsair that you linked and it has trouble at 4.0. The dominators are a great option, though. I have heard good things about the OCZ, but my experience with OCZ on Gigabyte MB's is a pain in the ass, It works great but takes a while to get it dialed in.

I run that bottom set of Corsair on mine, good stuff.

I had the UD3R and the OCZ kits don't play well with it at all. Anything else should be fine with it. From first hand experience, and from others' as well, if you don't want a headache, don't get an OCZ kit with the UD3R. (I'm not sure about all the kits, I just know that the 1600MHz CL8 Gold series don't work well with them). The OCZ kits are fantastic, but not with this board.

Instead of creating a new thread, about the exact same question pretty much... Jacked! Sorry Autumn.

I just got my GigaByte UD3R, just need memory now to complete my build. I am so far heavily leaning towards Patriot 7-7-7-20 6 GB kit. Does anyone know if this works fine on this board? I am also considering that G.Skill kit PC_User linked. I'll be pulling the trigger for ram before this week.

The tighter timings and cheaper price (after rebate) of the Patriot is the main reasons I'm leaning towards it. Any input/suggestions?

Sorry about the Jacked thread but I figure may as well not create another topic.

Check Gigabyte's memory support list for this board on their website.

I have the cas8 version of the corsair and it has trouble at 1600 on that board too. I went through 3 sets of it before I could get one that wouldnt freeze prime95 instantly. Even then, im having to run it at 1.68
