Memory File Systems for Vista

I'm thinking about adding another 8 gigs of memory to my current system which will bring me to a total of 16 gigs of memory on 64Bit Vista if I can figure out how to create ramdisks.

Can vista do this with or without 3rd party software? basically I would like to create an 8 - 10 gig ramdisk that would show up as an M: drive and be able to install my apps and games on to this drive a bonus would be if it allowed me to take a snap shot of this data and write it out to disk where it could be later recovered would be very nice as well this would allow me to save a lot of time because I wouldnt have to reintall my apps after I reboot.
 
There are RAMdisk applications out there, but nothing built into Vista (or XP). Server "may" be different, but I doubt it.

Also, which motherboard are you using? Consumer chipsets are capped at 8GB total so far...
 
send me a PM, i have a nice little ram disk app that i downloaded recently. works nice in vista, just can't remember where i got it from. i can send it to you via email.

what motherboard do you have? which ram you planing to get? I was thinking about the RAM disk idea, sounds interesting :p
