I tried powering up my comp today and all I got was a single, long beep. So I make sure everything is seated good and it still beeps. Take the stick (good one) out of ddr slot 2 and it doesn't boot, swap that for the dying one in slot 1 and it powers up just fine. No big deal, memeory stick is shot.. But I put the bad stick in slot 2 and it loads up. Ran Prime95 for the last 3 hours with no errors(the torture test that targets your mem).

weird??

put em in slot 2 and 3 if it happens again some mobos have issues..

my best bet.....your pins on your memory were oxidized or somthing

Yes weird, might suggest you check for dirty contacts on stick and the slot.

heh forgot to post specs. Although I've never had a problem with this board and memory slot configs.

2.4C@2.7 Stock HSF
Crucial 2x256MB DDR333 generic sh*t
Abit BE7
ATI 9600 Pro

My comp is starting to show its age :(

Also, now that I think about it, I used to be able to o/c it up to ~3.1 on stock cooling (like 7+ months ago) and 3.4 with my alpha (hardware broke, couldn't find replacements) and now I can't even get it stable at 2.8 :(

my 2800 did that.... used to be able to almost reach 2.4 then it went to 2.3 then 2.2 (on same voltage) i said screw it a few days ago and sold it and im getting a mobile in 2 weeks or so.. til then my gaming rig is dead.. :(
