Hrmmmm if i try leaving my memory at 250mhz which is stable at memtest86, and try doing 2.8ghz for my cpu, core 2 is only stable for 15 seconds

If i mmove my memory from 250 to about 230mhz my second core is stable for a longggggggg time....

So what is the solution to this, my memory is made for 250mhz 3-3-2-8 timings
You think it means i need more voltage on the memory? but whats the point when it is stable:/

Are you 100% certain 2.8 can be done by your opty? 2.8 is pushing it, your not guarenteed any type of OC. Going from 250---> 230 FSB is a 200mhz jump. Have you tried figuring out that your CPU might be the problem? Try lowering the divider and see if its still unstable. If it is, then it isprolly bad ram, if it isnt, then ur cpu limited. In that case raise volts, but sometimes that doesnt work.

faster ram -> more strain on cpu -> potentially lower max stable

i haven't experienced this issue myself, but i've seen a few people with it. mind telling ALL of your settings? :D
