Hello,

I recently purchased some DDR3 for my new laptop on eBay. It has passed MemTest86 and currently running the Google Stress App test via Linux Mint.

When I was running MemTest86, I happen to select for RAM Benchmark test for fun but noticed that the speed started out extremely high for first few seconds then was a steady low for the remaining of the test. When I received the memory I did think it was slightly peculiar and now wonder if it is counterfeit Crucial memory that I have.

Is there a memory benchmark app I could use where I can compare the results with others with similar memory/systems to make sure they are at least performing as expected?

Thanks!

Memtest86+ RAM speed test is a joke.

You can get a good feel for relative speed through Sisoft Sandra.

Memtest86+ built in benchmark is not suppoed to be used as a real benchmark its not built for it it more like just an extra faeature.
also cache...

I would also rather look at sisoft sandra or passmark
