Ok guys - I have read the FAQs and stuff, but I need some expert guidance.
First off, I have a p4 2.4a overclocked to 3.2ghz. It is running on an MSI NEO board (865 cs), and I have 1x256 OCZ PC4200. Graphics provided by a non/oc Evga6600gt.
I think the fact that I only have 256mb is killing me in doom3 and benchies, so I want to add more ram. Here are my questions:
1.) I think I went a little over the top with the pc4200. That is rated for 533mhz or 267mhz fsb. Since I have a 2.4a, with a FSB of 533 which /4 = 133 running stock with an 18x multiplier - then 180mhz fsb = 3.2ghz for me. PC3200 is rated at 200mhz, right? Would I be ok scrapping the 4200 and going with 1 GB of 3200 ram?
2.) Which is better, 2 sticks or 4?
3.) Given the stuff above, what should be my driving factor on RAM selection?
