isn't my frequency supposed to be higher? its at 176mhz

Do you have your memory set to run with a divider like 5:4 or 3:2? It should be set at 1:1.

EDIT: Yes you have it set at 5:4. I squinted and saw it in the picture lol.

In the BIOS...but your scaring me a little. Got any friends that could supervise? You could make your system non-bootable if you don't know what your doing. Your memory should be able to handle 1:1.

I see performance mode is disabled.....that may also be because you have a lower divider....or timings, or BIOS options. If you overclocked your system, you should know how to make these kinds of changes.

Well how did you change it to 5:4? It should of been 1:1 by default. And since your system is overclocked you should at least be able to find the FSB/DRAM divider settings in the BIOS. Restart your computer, go into BIOS, change it from 5:4 to 1:1. Your RAM should do ok but beware that once you set it to 1:1 your system will be in sync and so your RAM will have to run at 220Mhz when the system restarts.

Make sure you have Dual Channel enabled in the BIOS also.

heh.... i got it, thanks guys.... i'll post picture hold on.... what is preformance mode?

Your memory is running dual channel, it's just your Performance Mode is disabled because you're running the memory out of sync. Change the ram ratio to 1:1.

This is going to sound rude, but read the manual. See what it calls Performance mode, and see if it has an explanation.

Hmm...you might need to go into bios and see if you can enable it there. Check your manual.

i have teh manual infront of my face right now.... let me take a look.... nothing about performance mode

875p, its in the sig....

also, they are reading the same exact numbers...
CPU-Z version 1.21

so i guess that performance mode is not anything i need? maybe for buffered ram...??

Maybe Cpu-Z isn't detecting your board properly. with 1:1 ratio, your board should have PAT enabled.

Also....

DRAM Type DDR-SDRAM
DRAM Size 1024 MBytes
DRAM Frequency 216.2 MHz
FSB: DRAM 1:1
CAS# Latency 2.0 clocks
RAS# to CAS# 4 clocks
RAS# Precharge 4 clocks
Cycle Time (TRAS) 8 clocks
# of memory modules 2
Module 0 Enhanced Memories DDR-SDRAM PC3500 - 512 MBytes
Module 1 Enhanced Memories DDR-SDRAM PC3500 - 512 MBytes

will this 1:1 enhance stuff in any way, like bench marks, game play, video rendering.... etc.....?

Run a benchmark program and see which setting will give you higher performance.

You may need to download a BIOS update to get PAT enabled.

Its not a matter of 1:1 giving you more performance. Its the fact you need to keep your memory running at a descent speed. You dont want to run it alot slower then 200Mhz. If you run a 5:4 divider then your going to need to crank up your FSP and get your processor running around 3600Mhz or higher to keep your memory at a descent speed. Otherwise stay in 1:1 and overclock. Keep your timings at 2-2-2-5 whatever you do.

As for a memory benchmark, download SiSoft. SiSoft isn't smart enought to take timings into account though so i would use a game to benchmark your RAM performance.

i have an 865pe chipset, and i notice no difference(in performance and benchmarks) w/ performance is enabled, except it won't post when OC'd. performance mode makes the ram run at more aggresive settings from what i read.

PAT is suppost to increase performance 3-5% when enabled but when overclocking it doesn't do much good to be enabled, especially if you are already running aggressive timings with your RAM.
