So I have started my computer rebuild, with everything at hand except the Alphacool "Melvin pipe" that was supposed to be included with my Cape Bullseye reservoir.

Who has one of these? How does it install? My reservoir will be facing up at the top of the case---is it feasible to get everything running, and however much later, pop the reservoir cover and insert the pipe?
 
I don't have a Melman Tube, but this looks like an adaption of the AC Aquajet. Sharka Computers has a description that I think is applicable. Essentially it screws into the back of your reservoir and sprays coolant on the cover so you don't get condensation buildup on the site plate.

Putting this in after the fact is going to be a leaky proposition. ;) However, it might work if you put the case upside down and use tubing clamps to keep the coolant from escaping when you pop the plug from the reservoir. I think this screws into the back of the reservoir. If it screws into the reservoir side then it should be easy.

Suggest you go to the Alphacool site as this doesn't appear to be a stock product anymore.

Well maybe somehow someway it might do something to help change the way the water velocity changes the cooling matrix to air mixture that creates a temporal vapor hole in the space-time continuum that lets in reverse flow ionized electrons that adds a better cooling capability. :eek:

I don't have one, but I was looking at their pics, and it seems like you use the spacer and o-ring to limit the depth of the fitting on the outside of the res and then stick the pipe in from the inside of the res.
 
I've got one but no pics. Its got about 2mm of thread on the end of a solid pipe, which threads into the central rear hole. Included is a black thread spacer and another O-ring to space the rear fitting 2mm out. Essentially, you will have to drain/isolate the reservoir to get the fitting spacer on.

Ah! An informed response at last. Yes, I've seen the spacer and O-ring in product listings but not how everything fits together. Hmm.... so now I need to decide: do I wait for the Melvin pipe, who knows how long that will take, or do I give up on it and finish my build without it? The pipe is kind of a central feature; I placed the reservoir top-and-center so it would be visibly percolating like an old-school coffeemaker. Yet I'm getting real tired of having this new quad-core system that is just sitting incomplete on the table.

According to the e-mail reply from Performance-PCs, they received Melvin pipes last week, but their supplier "forgot to send the o-ring and gaskets and so they are useless". But I didn't get an answer as to why the site has not shown the pipes as out of stock at any time in the month and change since I ordered mine.
