Media Reader Not Detected

Okay I am almost finished with this rig. I installed windows XP Pro on it and all went fine.
But when I checked my computer the media reader is not showing up. Now I have checked the internal headers on the board and they are fine, but I when I connect the media reader it does not show up any suggestions.

Should I install windows then try and install the media reader ?

I cannot think of what else to try, this build is one nightmare after another.

Any help would be appreciated :)
