MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries Is Coming December 2018 with 4-Player Co-op

Reports says that there's 3.2, 3.2A, and 3.2B, but I haven't been able to find those versions. If those versions existed, then I think that nobody bothered to archive them before MekTek took their downloads down.

There also was allegedly an alpha of a MekPak version 4, which didn't get finished.

Ask on the BattleTech forums as well. Likely someone there can help you...

You might also have luck with the owner of Virtual World (the BattleTech pods) since MW4 and VWE BattleTech share common code origins.

I wish I still had my Sidewinder force feedback joystick, that thing was awesome for the old MW games. Torso-twist strafing was so much easier than with the default mouse/keyboard setup. Force feedback was interesting too, for the games that supported it.

I still have my Sidewinder Strategic Commander - and it handled torso twisting easily. Microsoft never updated the drivers past Windows XP but Philip Merwarth wrote Strategic Engine which works even under Windows 10. You can get it from Archive.org here.

I hope I can get it to work with this new version of the game. I played the crap out of Mechwarrier 2.

As for VR - Nothing beats the real world. The Virtual World pods were amazing; too bad the game sessions were ridiculously priced for routine play :( That link is interesting - apparently there are several places that still have the pods up and running. If I'm ever in any of those cities I will absolutely have to seek them out. There used to be a Virtual World in Vegas and I played at that one on many occasions.
