Mechanical Latches?

Anybody know anything about mechanical latches, where to get them etc... Im looking for one of those latches that allows a door on a hinge to sit flush, then when you push the door down it unlocks and pushes the door up a little. Then to close it back up again you push down and it locks flush with the surface again.

Does this make any sense?

Are you talking about like those latches on AV equipment shelfs with glass doors? im guessing hit up the local hardware store, they might have something

I'd suggest going to Lowe's, if you have one nearby. They have a TON of different cabinet type hardware that they carry, and I'd be willing to bet you'd find what you're looking for (and a bunch of other neat stuff you weren't looking for, but might give you more ideas!). :D

Sounds like the magnetic catches on AV cabinets to me too. Most hardware places should have them.
You'll need to recess the main part of the catch about 10mm back into the case, and glue the metal piece onto the door. Shouldn't be any problems to do :)
