Measuring Power supply voltages

I don't have massive experience with multimeters. So i just want to make sure i'm doing this right (i don't want to get electricuted).

If i want to check the voltages on the molex connectors what i would do is set my multimeter to VDC (starting at highest voltage rating and then work my way down) and then put the black probe into the molex slot that has a black wire, and then the red probe into say the red wire. then i should get a reading of 5V no? and then for the yellow wire i shouold get 15V? is this correct.

Also say i put the red probe into the gnd and the black on the red wire, i would get -5V correct?

Are there any safety measures i have to take?

There aren't any major saftey risks if you're just testing the molex connectors with a multimeter. You will want to keep the black lead on the black wire at all time, that is your ground/reference voltage.

Assuming your measureing the 4 pin connectors you should get values of 5V and 12V. On the mobo connector you could start seeing some other voltages but as long as the 5 and 12 volt rails are reading ok everything is probably good.
