MDGRAPE-3 Vs BLUEGENE/L

There was news yesterday from the far east that Japanese has now a supercomputer runs 4x faster than IBM's Bluegene/L which was previously the world record holder as a supercomputer. The Japanese supercomputer is a joint effort of Intel and Japanese SGI. IBM will be using a different technology that will supersede MDGRAPE-3 drastically in 2 years.

In future (within 2 years) 4 or 5 GHz Conroe is nothing.
