Hi,

I put a mcw60 on my 8800gts and got the mc8800 ramsink kit. I'm using the 1/2" barbs, and I notice that when I put 7/16" tubing on, the bottom of each tube slightly touches the top of each ramsink beneath it. Does anyone else have that problem or did I screw in the block too far? Also, is that something I should be concerned about (ie the ramsink melting the tube or something)?

Thanks

It'll be fine. The ram sinks won't get hot enough to do any damage. If you're as anal as I am, you can dremel the pins on the ram sinks in half.

Damn, I'm sure the product description stated only 1/2" ID tubing touches the ramsinks. I'm using 7/16" Masterkleer so guess I'll have the same problem - my 8800GTS and MCW-60 arrive tomorrow. Guess I'll be replacing some ramsinks in the 8800 heatsink pack with the low-profile Zalmans from my X1900 which is reverting to stock anyway. That'll be a bit ugly, although copper blue is a great album :D

How are the temps?

idle ~39-40 C. load -- I haven't tested yet...

you might get SOME clearance between the tubes, but my tubes weigh it down slightly bc i have an inverted case. I imagine if the card is facing down, gravity will bring down the tubes slightly..

I wouldn't worry too much about it. The ram sinks won't get hot enough to affect the tubing at all.

...or don't bother.

I have run my setup for months and it does not matter, even with 1/2" ID (3/4" OD) tubing, as in my case. This is how mine is, and it is still fine, months later:

I love my copper forest. :D
