Are there any Microsoft Certified Trainers out there that care to talk about their experience as a trainer?

Is the cert worth it? Are there many jobs for trainers? Is the job fulfilling?

thanks

hey, I'm an MCT. I actually just got a job as a Senior Web Developer after three years of training.

The answer: it depends. Depending on where you go work for, you'll have different experiences. I've had classes that I was almost dissapointed ended, and then there were the classes that couldn't end quick enough. Some training centers have sales people whose only concern is to get butts in the seat, so it wouldn't be uncommon to teach an ASP.NET course to people who had never programmed, old COBOL programmers who haven't done anything but COBOL for the past 30 years, and then three guys who've been working with ASP.NET for two years but want to increase their knowledge. Those classes, between baby sitting the n00bs, defending non-COBOL things and then trying to make the people that SHOULD be in the class happy will slowly drive you crazy.

But, I did make a ton of good contacts. I learned a ton that I doubt I would have learnt from just doing web devolpment. The jobs are hit and miss. An MCT with an MCSD and MCDBA shouldn't have too much trouble finding work. If you are trying to become an MCT with an MCSE, well, let's just say there a few of them out there.

If you already have a premier cert (MCSD, MCSE, MCDBA) it's generally just a matter of taking a Train the Trainer course, and sitting a MOC class and you can get your MCT. Oh, and like $300.
