Thank you, I have access to some older i7's at work that i am dumping this on. I don't pay the electric bill for it :)
 
Make sure you get approval from your employer before doing that. We've seen people laid off due to using company hardware they didn't get approved first.
 
I'm not that worried about it, I payed for and built my own work station because i am the only 3D modeler here and they tried to get me too use an i7-3770 workstation with THIS GPU in it.,.... haha 256 MB of VRAM
 
So they really need me because I am the only one here who can do renders of pressure vessels in blender (like walkthroughs)
or really ANY 3D

Damn, that is one old ass card! At least there is no BS about it being a gaming card:
This card's graphics processor and memory mean that it is not recommended for most games, but it will still be fine for office applications and other normal computing tasks.

yeah, i was getting about 3 FPS while trying to orbit even simple vessels.

now i have a 4k monitor and its butter smooth. (980 Ti will do that)

but i have two GTX 960's in here as well (for blender Cycles render)

If you feel the need to put some electricity though those GPUs I've got a GPU project we need a little help in as well that you can crunch on. It rewards big points, too.
