hey all, i decided to check out motherbaord monitor 5 but whenever i started ti up, my computer would really slow down (my music got really choppy/static) and then my computer would power off
at first i thought it was my OC but then i tried it at stock and the same thing happened
have you guys had this problem before? does it happen to computers with certain hardware components? thanks

You may have gotten a corrupted download. Or even a bad driver interferring. Delete and start over.

i tried that out but no luck
however, when it shut down this time, i noticed that the cpu temp was at 70C in smartguardian...its kinda weird because right before i started mbm5, it was at 29C, anyone ahve a solution?

bump this baby up, really want to check out mbm5 and see wahts wrong with it

I used to see stuff like this occasionally. It was caused by one of two things:

1) IO.sys has some issue. Wrong version. conflicts. non-existent. Usually mbm5 provides a default one. Something to watch for - this may solve your mbm5 problem and destroy everything else, so check.

2) You have your sensors set up wrong and autoshutdown is on... you've told your system to shut down at 70 C and then told MBM5 that your fan's rpm is actually your northbridge temp or something. It redlines and shuts down.

i checked out teh mbm5 folder and there was no IO.sys, where is it located?
also, do you know how to fix teh sensors for the system? thanks

io.sys is an older, core system file. Not sure if it's included in all OS's or not. You can do a file search for it. Should compare yours with the one they have for download at mbm5 (assuming they still do).

To make sure you have the right sensors picked you check yours against the mbm5 list. If your mobo isn't listed then look at the specs. There's only a few sensor manufacturers, their name will be listed in your mobo book AND under advanced settings for sensors in mbm5. match them up.

well i seemed to ahve gotten the match-ups fixed, i was using the fan rpm as the cpu temp
anyways, mbm5 no longer crashes but im faced with a really weird problem of very odd temps; when i open up mbm5, my PWM IC temps shoot up to 180C in smartguardian but im 101% that isn't correct
also, the dashboard setting for my cpu fan, pwmic fan,a dn chipset fan are somewhere around 20k isntead of the normal 1200, pretty odd eh? haha
also, the dashboard is reporting my PWM IC temp at -80C -_-
well, im sure many others ahve run into these problems, if any of you could help me out on how to fix it or if you have relatively the same setup as i do, all help would be appreciated

Visit DFI-Street.com; there is a thread in Overclock section on AMD64 that gives a lot of support for MBM5. Good luck. I've been using it successfully for several months.

And here is the link http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6798&highlight=mbm

I've been using it for a while now also....

Main thing is that you CAN'T let MBM5 do the autoconfigure thing. It'll screw up for sure.
Because MBM5 is no longer supported by it's author and the Nvidia chipsets were never included in it's data files. The link tells you exactly how to set it up properly.

Luck

i checked out DFI and used these settings

http://premium1.uploadit.org/soundx...ionsettings.rar

however, i still have the same problems, here is an ss of the dashboard and settings

mbm5.jpg

fan/pwm fan rpm was about 1200 before i loaded up mbm5; pwm temp was about 40 before i loaded, and chipset temp was about 46 before i loaded
i also looked through thepost, but i cannot find anything else helpful
can any of u give me a direct link to the guide/info?
thanks
