MBM Temperature Readings...Which Sensor?

To be blunt, which temperature sensor do I use to get accurate temps?

I'm running a S939 3000+ .09 micron Winchester Core CPU with a Soltek SL-K8T939-Pro motherboard, which MBM does not have an auto config for.

According to "LM90 Local" I am running at 36C idle, and "LM90 Remote" reports 46C idle. Which one would be the correct temperature? I'm kind of doubting that it could be 46C since my heatsink is cool to the touch...but is it the correct one?

The LM90 is a temperature measuring IC from National Semiconductor. A decent little chip, though the accuracy is +/- 3 degrees. The local temp is exactly that - local, the temperature around the LM90 itself (but where on the board is that? look for a 3mm square chip with eight-legs and LM90 written on it...).

The remote reading is almost certainly from the CPU's thermal diode.

Make sure u have the W1.4 BIOS, otherwise your temperature readings will be off. Also download the latest version of SoltekHW monitor, for the most accurate readings. I personally use SpeedFan, but I had to offset the readings on there to match SoltekHW's readings.

I downloaded the W1.4 BIOS and flashed it. It still reads the same as the W1.3 BIOS. Do I need to reset the BIOS for it to take effect or something?

Does it say W1.4 at POST? Mine won't start after the flash, til I cleared the CMOS.

Yup, it reads W1.4 at POST. The flash didn't make any differences in temps.
 
I tried Soltek's Hardware Monitoring utility (which is a piece of shit, it was off by 8C), and now I can't get LM90 Remote and LM90 Local sensors to show up under MBM.
