i think i might have a stick of dead memory
i brought it first for a new machine build, due to the motherboard for that arriving DOA (crappy cheap board, now been replaced with a nf7 nforce2 dunno why i cut a corner in the first place)
so i added the stick in to my old machine
it wouldn't boot with the stick in
made no beeps at me
i tryed the stick on its own
the mboard beeped at me then
i then inserted my old memory, rebooted my machine again and it loads but when it finished loadin xp and when desktop loads the comp reboots shortly after
now i have my new machine fully built with one workin stick of ram
i was wondering what risk is it if i tested the memory i put in my old machine in to my new machine
dont wanna go screwin up my nf7
will it be ok to insert and see if it beeps, or think i could fry my memory slot doing so?
alittle advice would be a treat, im paranoid now :|
